According to their findings, they concluded that CBD regulates inflammatory reactions in the intestine. As a result, it prevents intestinal damage, a symptom associated with celiac disease.

This article highlights and discusses the benefits, uses, and dosage of CBD oil for celiac disease.

There are several factors you have to consider before taking CBD oil. These can include the severity/stage of your condition, as well as how well your body tolerates CBD. What Medical Research Says About Using CBD For Celiac Disease

CBD is a natural compound obtained from the Cannabis Sativa L. (also known as hemp). CBD’s ability to effectively interact with the human endocannabinoid system is a contributing factor to its effectiveness when treating celiac disease. This system consists of endocannabinoids, as well as CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors, which regulate body functions like immunity, sleep, appetite, pain, and mood.

You can find a detailed explanation of the step-up method in our CBD dosage guide.

CBD triggers the production of CB1 and CB2, boosting the body’s immune system. It can also help relieve celiac disease symptoms such as pain, inflammation, loss of appetite, and irritation that affect the gastrointestinal tract.

What Is Celiac Disease?

Celiac disease is a common autoimmune disease that affects a significant portion of the population. The immune reaction occurs when a person ingests gluten in foods like wheat, rye, and barley. When the affected person eats this protein, his or her immune system responds by attacking the intestinal wall. With critical structures such as villi found all over the small intestines, this condition has the potential to affect one’s health greatly.

According to studies, Celiac disease can lead to nerve damage 9 . CBD can be a solution for neuropathy pain 10 , as it has neuroprotective 11 and neurodegenerative 12 properties. Taking CBD oil, can therefore, help repair this damage for better nerve function.

Although the list of celiac disease symptoms is long and varied, some people with the condition never experience any issues. Therefore, many people with celiac disease never receive a diagnosis.

What Causes Celiac Disease?

There is some evidence that cannabis, specifically CBD, could help with symptoms of depression. Again, these effects are down to the way that cannabinoids interact with the ECS, this time in the brain.

Most patients prefer indica-dominant strains for pain-relief as they provide a robust physical high. Popular options include White Widow and Bubba Kush.

However, I've gotten away with things in the last two years that I never would have gotten away with before that. I think the biggest thing is the anti-inflammatory properties that CBD has. Check out this study though! https://www.researchgate.net/publication/236339824_Altered_Expression_of_Type-1_and_Type-2_Cannabinoid_Receptors_in_Celiac_Disease

It's amazing stuff. It really helps with symptom relief. I also use it for my MS so it's a lifesaver!

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar? I am cautiously optimistic that CBD oil may actually help alleviate a celiac reaction. It's kind of expensive so I would love to hear the input of others before I go out and buy any. Thanks!

I ate out at a "safe" restaurant a few days ago and sure enough the next day I started getting all the fun symptoms. My stomach was so messed up for 2 days straight until I took 2 puffs of CBD on a vape pen and then swallowed a few drops of it under my tongue. Within a few minutes my stomach had literally calmed down 100% and since then I have been feeling fine.

CBD oil is for sure a lifesaver to anyone with Celiac. I couldn't recommend it highly enough
